Friboi Group was founded in 1953 by Jose Batista Sobrinho, also known as “Ze Mineiro” in the city of Anapolis, in the state of Goias Brazil. When Ze Mineiro embarked on his business venture, the daily capacity was only 5 head of cattle. In 2005 JBS S.A. was created in order to support the company’s tremendous growth (on average 30% per year over the last 20 years); as well as to segment its businesses and ensure we kept the focus on each individual area and better defined the various brands. Today JBS has businesses across the globe in a variety of industries, such as: Ag-Business, the Food industry, Distribution and Transportation, Household Cleaning Products and Asset Management.
Swift & Company
Swift & Company was founded in 1855 by Gustavus Franklin Swift in Greeley, Colorado. In July, 2007 JBS S.A. purchased Swift & Company, JBS’ purchase of Swift & Company made JBS the world’s leading beef exporter. Following the lead of JBS S.A., of diversifying and growing the organization, JBS Swift & Company has begun to expand its business in the U.S. with the formation of the JBS Transportation Division created in February, 2008.

Swift processes, prepares, packages, markets, and delivers fresh, further processed and value-added beef and pork products to customers in the U.S. and international markets.
